What is the China Interbank Bond Market (CIBM)?

The Chinese bond market is the third largest in the world. CIBM scheme creates a route for international investors to access onshore bonds, complementing already existing Connect schemes. This is a further step in opening up Chinese financial markets to international investors.

Bonds on CIBM are open for trading in China only and accessible to international investors under, a.o., the Bond Connect scheme.

Highlighting Chinese domestic bonds bridges the information gap between Chinese issuers and international investors.
